Step into your power with guest instructor Dixie Deyné in Emotive Fusion Improv, an electrifying and expressive dance experience set to Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me in a Crown.”

This workshop introduces dancers to the art of emotive performance—where expression becomes as important as movement. Through guided exploration, Dixie helps you tap into the moods and archetypes that live inside every performer, connecting body language, facial expression, and emotional energy to movement and music.

After a strong warm up, we will work with foundational belly dance movements, and learn how posture, dynamics, and stage positioning can tell a story. Then, using collaborative brainstorming and improvisation, you’ll embody powerful archetypes—from the regal and commanding to the mysterious and untamed.

Whether you’re a seasoned fusion dancer or stepping into expressive improv for the first time, this workshop invites you to break the mirror, connect inward, and discover what it feels like to dance from the inside out.

What you’ll experience:

  • Introduction to dance archetypes and emotive performance tools

  • Guided improv focused on storytelling through movement

  • Collaborative group creation and emotional exploration

  • A supportive environment to reconnect with your artistry

No performance pressure—just raw emotion, authentic movement, and a little bit of dramatic flair.
